The Big Problem
How do students make progress when learning the skill of playing the piano? Students learn best when they are getting feedback from their teacher.
When they are being assessed.
The big problem most studios and students run into is that assessment only happens at the lesson. That means student progress is really confined to the lesson each week. The average 30-minute private lesson simply does not have the time to practice with enough repetition or to drill those tough parts in the lesson. This is true of most piano studios and music schools in the U.S. There is just so much to do in 30 minutes.
And when a student does try to practice at home, they dread it for one reason:
It feels too hard.
I am solving this problem once and for all in my studio.

Our Solution!
The Piano Express System
Can you imagine what would happen if students could be assessed at home too? You don’t have to imagine it. We are proud to announce that we use the comprehensive curriculum, The Piano Express.
The purpose of this program is to address the #1 problem that piano students have. The difficulty of home practice. We train student's in our classes how to use our powerful tools that will give them access to high quality assessment around the clock at home. These tools help them unlock the piano teacher inside themselves, making progress in their skills accelerate the further they move in our program.

PX Details
- Lasts for one hour each week
- Has been shown to dramatically improve a student’s skill level… studios using this program have seen children get through their beginner books twice as fast as a traditional method.
- Helps students learn how to unlock the piano teacher inside themselves… instead of waiting for the teacher to tell them how they did
- Allows the student to learn more music each week… this translates into faster completion time
- Will minimize your need to supervise practice at home
Students won’t have to wait for their next lesson to know if they are playing their music correctly.
While this might seem like a small thing… this means students will be able to make progress on music at home. Studios across the nation use this system to shrink the time acquiring basic musical proficiency skills from 5 years down to a 2 year program. Faster rates of progress result in greater motivation and the feeling of more fun! The Piano Express takes a student from total beginner to an intermediate level student.
Graduates achieve the following:
- Full literacy of notated music.
- Technical proficiency to learn any intermediate song, regardless of the genre
- The ability to play with steady tempo, an essential skill for solo playing as well as playing with others.
Success Story: Meet Noah
This little Bach-star, Noah, has been fully embracing our Piano Express curriculum, and his results show.
Before Piano Express, Noah was a fairly typical 6-year old who very rarely formally practice piano at home. The month leading up to recitals, he might play 1-2 times per week. Overall, Noah was playing very casually. Fast forward to our integration with Piano Express - this learning system has made a complete 180 in Noah’s enjoyment of playing piano. I regularly can track Noah's 4-5 practice sessions throughout the week on my teacher dashboard, and he has nearly completed our 65-page level 2 book in 1 month of weekly classes. Many of these songs are fully learned and perfected at home, unassisted by a teacher. If you teach or have any knowledge of music lessons, you know this basically never happens anywhere else. The best part? He asks his Mom for more time because it feels like a video game! I feel so proud of him, getting to watch his transformation unfold in real time before my very eyes. |
